Likewise, the 13.77% forest-loss category should not automatically be described as net forest decline over forty years. It identifies cells that were classified differently in the two comparison years, which is a different question from calculating all gains and losses through the entire time series.

A more careful workflow starts with a change patch and then checks what covers that location in 2025.
