Delete old posts using WP phpMyAdmin

A few months ago, I deleted the bulletin board that I used for various reasons. But since then, deleted posts have been crawled, so I thought they were not deleted completely, so I used the WP phpMyAdmin plug-in to find the deleted post data and deleted it.

The reason why I used the plug-in was because I tried to use the PuTty program through the WP phpMyAdmin connection method, but I couldn’t access it due to the authority problem, and I modified the authority by referring to the foreign community, but I couldn’t.

So I looked for a plug-in and found the WP phpmyadmin plug-in so I could easily access the data. Then I will organize the process of deleting old posts.

1. WP phpMyAdmin

When you see the plug-in description, you can see that you can use WordPress Dashboard without extra security and hassle. There are several other plug-ins, but most of them clean up the database, so you can’t just delete what you want.

There is one condition to use that plug-in, but PHP version 7.1.3 is required. I was able to use it because I recently upgraded PHP while relocating the server.

2. How to use the plug-in

If you search WP phpMyAdmin after entering additional plug-ins in WordPress Manager, you can find it as shown above, install it, and activate it.

When you activate the plug-in, you can see it in the Admin menu. If you go in, you can see the screen like this. If you click EnterphpMyAdmin, you can enter your database.

If it doesn’t work, you can enter the url shown in the description of the phpMyAdmin on Hosting space below.

3. Search and delete phpMyAdmin

For those who don’t know it well, it’s so complicated that you might be embarrassed when you enter the building for the structure is so complicated. And since it’s where you manage your WordPress database, if you correct it or delete it incorrectly, it might not work properly.

So it’s better to back it up before you make any modifications, but it’s better to use the features provided by Hosting or use the Backup Plug-in to pre-back it up.

Then let’s look at how to delete an old post, assuming you’ve backed it up. Once you connect, you can find it on the left, but if you don’t know it, it’s hard, so you can click the top one and then click the top search button.

The reason why I click Bitnami_wordpress first is that I will search for the whole thing.

When the search option comes up, I entered the plugin name %kboard% because I deleted the post while using the Kboard.

If you have entered the word you want to search for, you will be able to see the Go button if you see it in the bottom right corner. If you click it, you will find the word you entered in the database.

WP phpMyAdmin

You’ll see a variety of search lists, and if you look at the wp_posts, you’ll see that there’s a matching one. Delete Here, instead of clicking Delete to delete it right away, you may not make a mistake in clicking Browse to open it and judging what you want to delete.

WP phpMyAdmin

If you press the Browse button, you can see various posting lists, and you can find old posts here and delete them by pressing the Delete button. Then it will be completely deleted from WordPress.

But if you’re using the Yoast Seo plug-in, it can be saved in WP_yoast_indexable, so you can check this part and delete the old post data.

Even though I deleted it, it kept crawling and re-installing the bulletin board, so I didn’t know how to delete it completely, so I was able to delete old posts when I found out about the plug-in recently.

If you use the bulletin board plug-in with me and still find it after deleting it, please use WP phpMyAdmin to delete it completely. If I emphasize it again, please make sure to back it up before you work on it.
