Following the map of Rwanda, which is located in Africa, this time I moved to Europe to create a Armenia map, which recently had an armed conflict with Azerbaijan.
The country is not large enough to rank 140th in the world with an area of 2974,000 hectares. With a population of 2.96 million, it is ranked 136th in the world, and the gross domestic product (GDP), which provides an indication of the economic situation, is 13.6 billion dollars, ranking 125th in the world.
The GDP per capita, which shows the real life of the people, is $4,527, similar to Georgia, Azerbaijan and Iran, and Turkey is a bit higher.
In the former Soviet Union, Armenia moved away from the center of agriculture and fostered industries such as chemicals, electronics, and machinery, but suffered a recession as it faced the limit of planned payments, and fell into a swamp of economic recession when a major earthquake occurred in 1988.
In such a bad situation, the collapse of the former Soviet Union leads to the worst and even the people leave the country. In the midst of this, the recent armed conflict with Azerbaijan has led to isolation due to negative relations with Turkey, and the outbreak of an epidemic has resulted in the damage to the tourism industry, which can be called the national industry, and the economy is falling into a bog.
There may be various reasons for the economic difficulty, but because it is a landlocked country, it becomes isolated when there is a conflict with neighboring countries, and because there are few resources, the weight of agriculture and tourism is too high.
Looking at the industrial structure, the reason for the economic difficulties is that there are no industries that produce high profits, with a high proportion of primary industries, with 46% in agriculture, 38% in services, and 15% in manufacturing.
Looking at the high capacity in 2019, exports are $2.6 billion and imports are $5.5 billion, which is more imports, and the deficit continues. The main resources are iron, copper, molybdenum, lead, zinc, and gold, but exports are not well enough to affect the economy, and the lack of infrastructure is also making the economy difficult.
Armenia can show a higher rate of economic growth if it diversifies its industry and resolves disputes with neighboring countries, but in recent years armed conflict has made it even more difficult.
To this extent, I learned about the country of Armenia and explained the map. The program I used was an illustrator, and I used Photoshop to add colors.
Not only one map was created so that it could be used for a variety of purposes, it was made into three types: color map, base map, and outline map. All of them can be downloaded for free by clicking on Google Drive at the bottom.
1. Armenia Map
This is the Armenia map created this time. The region consists of 10 provinces and one special city, and when indicating the name of the region, referring to the Wikipedia Administrative District document, it is indicated in Korean and English.
The region with the largest population is Yerevan Special City, which can be said to be five times as many as in other regions. Bayotzor has the smallest population, although it is not small, it has the least population density.
Surrounding countries Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, and Iran looked complicated, so the location was not marked with borders and only letters were used. Lake Sevan, located in the Gegarkunik region, has been marked without removal because it is an important place.
The size is made in A3, so it’s good to print and look, and when you add or edit information using a graphic program like Photoshop, it won’t break even if you enlarge it, so it will be easy to work with.
Colors are used to distinguish regions, so it would be nice to attach them to your blog or site.
2. Basic Armenia Map
There are many people who want to use color maps, but if the regions are classified by color, the name of the region may not be visible depending on the print quality, and it may be difficult to concentrate on the text due to the color.
So, since the Armenia map with the color removed for regional division, it is white, it is good to use while marking after printing, and if you are working with graphics, you will be able to work comfortably when adding colors or information.
3. Contour Armenia map
The Armenia map, just introduced above, is also good for graphic work, but it can get in the way when working with the background color and lakes displayed.
So, you can create your own map without needing to do any additional work because you checked all the breaks of lines with the Armenia map with only outlines with all colors and letters removed.
The above 3 maps can be downloaded as compressed files by clicking Google Drive below. Since we have made various maps besides the Armenia map, please go to the map category in the top menu and download and use the map of the country you need for free.
