Following the map of Serbia, which is located in Europe, this time I moved to Africa to create a Senegal map, known for its football. Senegal is a country located between Mauritania to the north, Guinea-Bissau to the south and Mali to the east, and has a unique border bordering the Gambia.
Senegal’s territory is 19.67 million hectares, making it the 86th largest country in the world. With a population of 16.7 million, it is not so large that it is ranked 70th in the world, and the economic situation is not so good that it is ranked 105th in the world with a gross domestic product (GDP) of 23.5 billion dollars, which is an indication of the economic situation.
The economic growth rate is as high as 5.27% as of 2019, but it is not making a big difference because the economy is basically in a bad situation.
The GDP per capita, which shows the real life of the people, is $1,446, which is lower than that of Mauritania, $1,677, and higher than that of Guinea-Bissau $697 and $890 in Mali.
Looking at the industrial structure, most depend on agriculture and fisheries, and by 2022 we expect to mine oil and natural gas from the sea.
Unlike African countries having a vicious cycle in which the economy is ruined by civil war, Senegal is showing a more stable political situation than other African countries because there have been no major conflicts after independence.
A stable political situation has a huge impact on the economic situation, so even if we depend solely on agriculture and fisheries, it is showing great economic growth. Representative products include peanuts, pearl oysters, cotton, and rice, while tuna, octopus, squid, and bonito are the main fisheries.
Among the aquatic products, some of you may have seen that Galchi is displayed in marts while exporting a lot in Korea. In Korea, you can see the activity on YouTube videos while conducting Saemaul Movement in Senegal.
Although the high economic growth rate and stable political situation are different from other African countries, the illiterate rate is high and there is a problem that depends on the primary industry, so in order to achieve great development, it is necessary to build infrastructure and foster various industries.
Religion is believed to be 95% Muslim and 5% Christian. The climate is divided into dry and humid seasons, with a tropical climate predominantly. When I learned about the country of Senegal and talked about the map, the program I used was an illustrator, and Photoshop was used to add colors.
Not only one map was produced, but three types of maps, color maps, basic maps, and outline maps, were made to be used for various purposes. The size is made in A3, so it will not break even if you print it large or enlarge it.
1. Senegal Map
This is the shape of the Senegal map that was created this time. The maps that were previously created had a little difficult terrain, but Senegal is not difficult, so you can work quickly.
Senegal is made up of 14 provinces, and when marking on the map, they are indicated in Korean and English by referring to the Wikipedia administrative divisions document. The capital Dakar uses a red star icon so you can find it right away.
The neighboring countries of Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Mali, and Mauritania did not create borders, but marked the location with letters so that the location could be identified, and Zambia is located inside so that they can be distinguished by color.
Because the region is colored, it looks good and will be great for uploading to your blog or site. And because it is A3 size, it is good to print and paste, and it will not break even if you enlarge it with a computer.
2. Basic Senegal Map
There are many people who like to have color, but if you are printing, it is better not to have color than to have color. Depending on the print quality, text may be difficult to see, so if you print a lot, use the map above.
For those of you who want to add information using a graphics program like Photoshop, the Senegal map above will be more comfortable to work with than the color map. And when uploading an image to the Internet, if there is a color, the text may be difficult to see, but the map above will stand out.
3. Contour Senegal Map
Next is a Senegal map with only outlines with all colors and letters removed. The basic map just above is not very inconvenient to work with graphics, but if you mark only a specific area, you need to remove it, so using the outline map will make your work more comfortable.
And since I’ve checked all the lines to break, I don’t need to do any extra work when adding color. All three Senegal map above can be compressed and downloaded for free by clicking on Google Drive below.
We made maps of various countries as well as the Senegal map we worked on this time, so if you need a map, please refer to the map category and download what you want for free.
