I recently made a map of Washington, USA, but this time I made a Guinea-Bissau map of the African region that I have been making. Guinea-Bissau is a small country between Guinea to the north and Senegal to the south.
It is a small country with a territorial area of 3,613,000 hectares, which ranks 135th in the world, and has a population of 2,010,000, making it 149th in the world. Gross national product (GDP), which shows the economic situation, is 1,3438.38 million dollars, which ranks 166th in the world, and the economic situation is not good along with other African countries.
The GDP per capita, which shows the real life of the people, is 697 dollars, ranking 141th in the world, and even when compared with neighboring countries, it can be said to be worse than Guinea 878 dollars and Senegal 1,521 dollars.
It is one of the poorest countries in Africa as well, so that all economic indicators come out badly. Looking at the industrial structure, it can be said that most of them depend on the primary industries of agriculture and fishing, and other industries are absent due to lack of infrastructure.
There are many reasons why the economy became so difficult, but the coup and civil war that occurred repeatedly after independence, like the African countries that were independent from European colonization, are the biggest reasons that made the economy difficult.
In 1980, the first president was elected by a military coup, but after that, it was extracted again, and in 1998 a civil war broke out due to a revolt by the chief of staff, disgruntled by the regime.
The civil war ended in 1999, but in 2003, the Chief of Staff initiated a coup, and in 2014, the coup broke out again, leading government officials to detention.
The coups that have occurred since independence have prevented the government from functioning properly, and crime has not ceased, and no plans for economic development have been made. As such, it became a base for drug smuggling, and the government declared war on drugs late, but it is so widespread that it is impossible to stop it.
There is support from all over the world, but if the government doesn’t have enough money, it couldn’t pay the salary from 2003 to 2008, so the EU applied and paid the salary.
The official language is Portuguese due to the influence of colonial rule. Religion is believed to be 65% of local beliefs, 30% of Islam, and 5% of Christianity. The climate shows a tropical equatorial climate, so overall it is hot and humid.
When I learned about Guinea-Bissau and gave me a map, the program I used was an illustrator, and Photoshop was used to add colors.
Like the previously produced maps, not only one map was created, but three types of color maps, basic maps, and outline maps were made so that they can be used for various purposes.
1. Guinea-Bissau Map
This is the guinea-bissau map created this time. The terrain is complicated because it faces the sea, but it was not difficult because it does not have a large territory.
Guinea-Bissau is made up of eight states and one borough, and the name of the region is indicated in Korean and English by referring to the Wikipedia Administrative District document.
The capital Bissau has a slightly lighter color so that you can find it immediately, and because it is narrow, it is marked with a line so that you can find it immediately. The province of Volama is made up of islands, but it was not easy to separate them, so I made it easier to distinguish them with a red dotted line.
Guinea and Senegal, the neighboring countries, have insufficient space for borders, so the location is indicated only with letters. Because it contains colors, it is easy to distinguish regions and looks good, so it will be nice to paste after printing.
And it would be a good map for those who write information on blogs or sites through Guinea-Bissau Map.
2. Basic Map
It would be nice if there was a color next, but depending on the application, some people would like to have no color. So, this is a Guinea-Bissau map with the colors used to classify regions.
Since there is no color, printing can save ink consumption and will be great for use while writing. And when creating a map with your own information through graphic work, you will be able to work comfortably because you don’t have to do the work of removing colors.
3. Contour map
And finally, the Guinea-Bissau map has all colors and text removed. It is a map type created for those who want to work with graphics, and since we have confirmed that all lines are cut off, there is no need to do additional work when adding colors.
Especially, if you want to create a map that contains a variety of information such as various historical events, demographics, political situation, and resource distribution through maps, outline maps will be better than color maps and basic maps.
All three Guinea-Bissau map above are compressed and can be downloaded for free by clicking on Google Drive at the bottom. In addition to the map above, we have created maps for various countries, so please click the map category above to download the map you want.
