Following the map of Nevada, the US state, this time I went back to Africa and made a Gabon map. Gabon is a country between Cameroon to the north and Congo to the south, bordering the Atlantic Ocean.
The territory of Gabon is 2,6767,000 hectares, and it is also a small country in Africa, where many countries are large enough to rank 74th in the world. It has a population of 2.27 million, making it 145th in the world.
Gross National Product (GDP), which shows the economic situation, is not so high that it ranks 115th in the world at 16.6 billion dollars. The GDP per capita, which shows the real life of the people, is $7,667, which is better than $1,533 in Cameroon and $561 in Congo, and less than $10,261 in Equatorial Guinea.
Looking at the industrial structure, most of the revenue source is petroleum, which ranks 37th in the global production rankings. Gabon’s forestry, wood processing, and mining industries are the main, but there are many trees, so the paper industry is also developed.
Mining includes petroleum, manganese, uranium, and gold. Agriculture employs 70% of the workforce, but its share is small in gross national product. The main agricultural products are cocoa, coffee, bananas and peanuts.
The reason Gabon has a better economy among African countries is that there is no civil war, which can be said to be a typical problem for African countries, and its security is on the better side than other countries, so investments are actively made in foreign countries.
In addition, exports of timber produced in dense forests to tropical rain forests are also possible, and economic policies promoted by the government are being conducted more systematically than in other African countries.
However, the economic growth rate is too low, the main source of income, oil, is depleted, and the concentration of wealth is so severe that the Human Development Index is low enough to rank 110th in the world.
It can be said that the lives of the people are not good because the profits from oil do not go to the general public, education and medical benefits are not properly received, and utility bills are high.
The language is French due to colonial influence. Christianity and Catholicism are 75% of the religions, and the rest are Muslim and indigenous religions. To this extent, I can learn about Gabon and talk about the map. The program I used for the production was an illustrator, and Photoshop was used to add colors.
Not only one type of map was created, but three types of maps, color maps, basic maps, and outline maps were made to be used for various purposes. Then, I’ll show you the Gabon map created this time.
1. Gabon Map
This is a map of Gabon in Africa. The topography itself wasn’t complex, so it didn’t take long to create the contours, and the administrative divisions were small, making it the most comfortable country among recent works.
Region names are displayed in Korean and English by referring to the Wikipedia administrative divisions document, so you can check the correct spelling and pronunciation. Congo, Cameroon, and Equatorial Guinea, neighboring countries, did not create borders so that they were not complicated, and only letters were used to determine their location.
Color is used for color classification, so it is good to attach it to a blog or site and use it as an attachment to a blog or site, and because it is made large in A3 size, it will look good when printing, and will not break even if you enlarge it when working with graphics.
If you want to use it when writing a post, you can download the image above and use it. If you want to print or work on graphics, please click Google Drive at the bottom to download the original image.
2. Basic Gabon Map
Next, it is a Gabon map with the color used for regional division removed. Since the terrain is white, it is good to use while writing after printing, and it will be good to add the color and information you want using a graphic program such as Photoshop.
And since we have checked all the breaks of the lines, there is no need for additional connection work, so it will be convenient for graphic users.
3. Contour Gabon map
The last Gabon map type is for those who want to work with graphics and is an outline map with all colors and text removed. Since there is only an outline, it will be good for those who want to create a Gabon map with their own information.
Before making a map, I knew how to use Photoshop, so I downloaded it and used it, but if there are colors and letters, it took a lot of time to work.
So, for those of you who would like to work with graphics as you start mapping, we include a map type with only outlines. In addition to the Gabon map, we have made maps for various countries, so if you are providing information through maps, please refer to the map category above.
